FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will hold four orientation sessions this summer for new students who will begin classes at the university in fall 2001.
Each new student is required to attend one of the sessions, scheduled for June 19-20, July 13-14, July 24-25, and Aug. 7. The first day of the two-day sessions is optional. Students must have been admitted to the university to participate.
Orientation is a fun event that gives incoming students the chance to familiarize themselves with the university. At orientation, new FMU students will have the opportunity to register for classes, work with an academic adviser, have an FMU ID card made, meet current and incoming students, receive information on a variety of student services, and tour the campus.
Costs are $45 for student registration and $15 for each guest. There is an additional $15 charge for each student or guest who wishes to stay overnight in a residence hall.
Included in the registration fee are a catalog, a student handbook, additional orientation materials, and meals during orientation.
For more information or to register for an orientation session, call FMU’s Office of Academic Advising and Retention at 843-661-1279.
