FMU to celebrate Homecoming 2001 on March 31

FLORENCE – Francis Marion University will celebrate Homecoming 2001 on Saturday, March 31.

 The event will include a variety of activities for alumni, beginning with a School of Business Alumni Breakfast on Friday, March 30, at 9 a.m. A School of Education Alumni Breakfast will kick off Saturday’s homecoming activities at 8:30 a.m.

 At 10 a.m. Saturday, tours of campus will be offered by the Office of Admissions. A number of presentations for alumni will be made throughout the day:

• 10 a.m. – Regional Awareness Meeting on National Board Certification by Cindy F. Wood

• 11 a.m. – “Postmodernist” Art World by Sam Howell

• 11 a.m. – Inclusion of Students with Disabilities by Michael Daniel

• 1:30 p.m. – Dealing with Stress by Mike Jordan

• 1:30 p.m. – What is the Internet? by Gary Coker

 At noon, a cookout for alumni, students and parents will be held at the president’s house, followed by a Patriot baseball doubleheader vs. USC Aiken at 1 p.m.

 The evening will culminate with “The Main Event” at 8 p.m. in the Smith University Center commons. All alumni are invited to an evening of entertainment, music, dancing and fellowship with friends and faculty. Classes celebrating 10, 20, 25 and 30 years since graduation will be recognized. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and a variety of beverages will be served.

 Tickets for “The Main Event” are $10 each  in advance for alumni and a guest. Graduating FMU seniors and a guest are invited to attend at a cost of $5 per person in advance. A limited number of $15 tickets for alumni and graduating seniors will be available at the door.
