FLORENCE, S.C. – Julie Bush of Aiken has been named director of enrollment management at Francis Marion University.
Her responsibilities include supervising the offices of admissions, advising and retention, registrar, and financial assistance. Those four offices were brought under the same administrative umbrella in 1999 to create a seamless operation in how FMU enrolls students.
Bush comes to Francis Marion from USC Aiken, where she served as director of student recruitment. Prior to that, she worked in that same post at Aiken Technical College, and as an admissions counselor at USC Aiken.
“At USC Aiken, Julie compiled an impressive record in the area of student recruitment,” said FMU provost Richard Chapman. “She brings to her new position the experience, enthusiasm, energy, determination and skills that will make her an outstanding director of enrollment management at FMU.”
Bush earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from USCA and is pursuing a master’s degree in community and occupational programs in education. She has received several awards from USCA, including being named the school’s Outstanding Alumna in 1998. Bush currently resides in Sumter and plans to move to Florence.
