FLORENCE, S.C. – Four Francis Marion University students will be honored at the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce’s Blue Ribbon Breakfast on Feb. 13.
The event will take place in the 5000 building cafeteria at Florence-Darlington Technical College at 7:30 a.m.
Students to be honored are: Marian J. Stokes, a psychology major from Florence; John Martine Watson, a physics and mathematics major from Pinopolis; Leah P. Gibbons, a visual art major from Florence; and David O. Martinez, a theatre and French major from Inman.
The chamber chose to honor outstanding college students and professors from various disciplines during its 2000-01 Blue Ribbon Breakfast series.
In September, the chamber honored Seth Smith, a professor of physics at FMU, who was named the university’s Distinguished Professor for the 1999-2000 year.
Christopher E. Wilcox, a computer science major from Florence, and Brian C. Gehring, an economics major from Cypress, Texas, were recognized in October.
The chamber will honor two FMU students from the education and health-related fields in March.
