FMU to host First Tuesday Arts Event on Feb. 6
FLORENCE – Pianist Charles Fugo and art exhibits will be featured at the First Tuesday Arts Event at Francis Marion University on Feb. 6.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:45 p.m. in the Hyman Fine Arts Center gallery with a viewing of glasswork by One Eared Cow Glass, and “Impressions of Mexico” by Ann Lane. The displays are part of the FMU Art Gallery Series.
At 8 p.m. in the Adele Kassab Recital Hall, pianist Charles Fugo will perform. Fugo is a professor of music at the University of South Carolina and a member of the American Arts Trio.
He has been a member of the USC music faculty since 1972, where he teaches piano, supervises the accompanying program, and is coordinator of the piano division. He has performed with several orchestras and has appeared frequently on statewide Educational Radio and Television programs.
Following the program in the Hyman Fine Arts Center, everyone is invited to the Smith University Center art gallery to view paintings by Mana Hewitt. This exhibit is also part of the FMU Art Gallery Series.
