Clyburn to be keynote speaker at FMU King Day celebration

FLORENCE – Congressman Jim Clyburn will be the keynote speaker at Francis Marion University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance on Monday, Jan. 15.

 The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. in the Cauthen Educational Media Center on the campus. The Mont Clare Community Choir of Darlington and the Imani Singers of FMU will perform. Joseph E. Heyward, senior vice president of student affairs at FMU, will preside. The event is sponsored by the FMU Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will conclude with a reception in the media center lobby. For more information, contact A.D. Givens Little, FMU’s coordinator of multicultural affairs, at 843-661-1188.
