Waller to perform at FMU's First Tuesday arts event, Sept. 4
FLORENCE, S.C. – Pianist Harcourt Waller and art exhibits will be featured at the First Tuesday Arts Event at Francis Marion University on Sept. 4.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:45 p.m. in the Hyman Fine Arts Center gallery with a viewing of “3-D Works from Regional Collections” by Andre Leon-Gray. The display is part of the FMU Art Gallery Series.
At 8 p.m. in the Adele Kassab Recital Hall, Waller will perform. He was educated at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and has also studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Waller has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City and given many concerts along the East Coast. Now living in Savannah, Ga., he plays for two prominent dinner clubs and has a full concert schedule.
The program will include selections by J.S. Bach, Beethoven and Liszt.
Following the program in the Hyman Fine Arts Center, everyone is invited to the Smith University Center art gallery to view “3 x 6: Paintings in Tryptych Format” by Osmosis Painters Group. This exhibit is also part of the FMU Art Gallery Series.
