Patriot Soccer Camps to be Held, July 30-Aug. 3
FLORENCE, S.C. – A few positions remain for the summer’s final session of Patriot Soccer Camps, July 30-Aug. 3, sponsored by the Francis Marion University men’s and women’s soccer programs.
The five-day camp, which will be held at the ESAB Soccer Complex, located off Pine Needles Road, will offer three options: a half-day camp for boys and girls ages 7-17, a half-day Mighty Tots Camp for ages 4-6, and a co-ed elite full-day camp for serious soccer enthusiasts (ages 13-18).
The half-day camp will meet each day from 9 a.m. to noon, and the cost will be $75. The primary objective of the co-ed half-day camp is to teach fundamentals in skills, tactics, and team play. The camp will emphasize improvement of individual skills.
The Mighty Tots Camp will run simultaneously from 9 a.m. until noon, and will also cost $75. This camp will introduce soccer through fun exercises and games. It is designed to let youngsters have fun while introducing soccer fundamentals, thereby ensuring a child’s first soccer camp experience to be positive and rewarding.
The elite full-day camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the fee will be $100. Campers will need to bring a lunch. This camp will provide great challenges for the advanced player. The training will be intense, and will focus on mastering technical ability and tactical expertise.
Francis Marion men’s and women’s soccer head coach Murray Hartzler is the camp director. Other members of the camp staff will include college coaches, professional players, and current collegiate players.
Each camper will receive a T-shirt.
