FLORENCE---Francis Marion University Provost Richard Chapman has announced that the following faculty members have been reappointed or promoted for the 2002-2003 academic year.
Reappointed for another three-year term as chair of their respective departments are:
• Professor Julia Krebs, chair, Department of Biology.
• Professor Christopher Johnson, chair, Department of English, Modern Languages, and Philosophy.
• Professor John Hester, chair, Department of Psychology and Sociology.
In addition, Pamela Rooks, professor of English, has been reappointed director of the Honors Program for another three-year term.
Seven faculty members have been reappointed with continuous tenure at Francis Marion University:
• Craig C. Alberty, tenured as assistant professor of music.
• Samuel F. Broughton, Jr., tenured as associate professor of psychology.
• Douglas E. Gray, tenured as associate professor of art-ceramics.
• Timothy L. Hanson, tenured as assistant professor of mass communication.
• Laurie S. Hunter, tenured as associate professor of psychology.
• Peter D. King, tenured as associate professor of biology.
• Gerald W. Long, tenured as associate professor of biology.
Three faculty members have been promoted from the rank of associate professor to the rank of full professor:
• David C. Granath, promoted to professor of theatre arts and speech-scenic design.
• George E. Harding III, promoted to professor of German.
• Peter T. Whelan, promoted to professor of English.
William P. Wattles was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of psychology.
