FMU To Dedicate Garden in Memory of Ashpy Lowrimore

FLORENCE---Francis Marion University will dedicate the Ashpy Lowrimore Memorial Garden on Monday, May 20, at 5:30 p.m.  The garden is located southeast of the Stokes Administration Building.

Lowrimore, who died in November, was regional president of Branch Banking and Trust Corp.   An active Rotarian, he was chairman of FMU’s Campaign for Excellence at the time of his death.

The Florence Rotary Club raised money to establish an endowed fund in Lowrimore's memory.  The fund will be used to maintain the garden area which is located between the administration building and the planned BB&T /Amelia Wallace Faculty/Alumni House.

Florence Rotary Club president Tom Ewart will make a special presentation to the university and the Lowrimore family.

Following the ceremony, the three Florence Rotary Clubs will have a cookout at Wallace House.
