FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will hold four orientation sessions this summer for new students who will begin classes at the university in fall 2002. Each new student is required to attend one of the sessions, scheduled for June 19-20, July 12-13, July 24-25, and Aug. 6.
FMU’s orientation is a fun event that gives incoming students the chance to familiarize themselves with the university. At orientation, new FMU students have the opportunity to register for classes, work with an academic adviser, have an FMU ID card made, meet current and incoming students, receive information on a variety of student services, and tour the campus.
Fall classes begin Aug. 21.
For more information or to register for an orientation session, call FMU’s Office of Academic Advising and Retention at 843-661-1279.
There is still time for students to apply and be accepted to the university for the fall 2002 semester. For application information, call the FMU Admissions Office at 843-661-1231, or toll free at 1-800-368-7551.
