FLORENCE, S.C. – Pee Dee area teachers interested in pursuing National Board Certification during the 2002-2003 school year are invited to attend an awareness meeting on Saturday, April 20, from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the McNair Science Building auditorium on the Francis Marion University campus.
National Board Certified teachers Wardie Sanders and Celeste Harris of Darlington will represent the S.C. Center for Teacher Recruitment and conduct the meeting.
“Significant changes to the process are being made for next year,” said Sanders, “and some of those changes will impact the S.C. National Board Loan Program. Teachers need to know of these changes to plan their certification process.”
The meeting agenda includes an information session to highlight both basic information about National Board Certification and changes to be implemented for 2002-2003. In addition, three National Board Certified teachers will participate in a panel discussion about their experiences during the certification process and answer audience questions.
Advanced registration is not required. Teachers desiring additional information about the meeting may contact Nancy Townsend in the FMU School of Education at 843-661-4649.
