FMU to play host to Langston Hughes celebration

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Swamp Fox Writing Project will hold a centennial celebration of poet and author Langston Hughes’ birth, at Francis Marion University on Tuesday, April 2.

 The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the breezeway between Founders Hall and the Cauthen Educational Media Center on the FMU campus.

 The celebration is free and open to the public, and will feature readings and discussions of Hughes’ work by FMU faculty members. Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch. Light refreshments will be provided.
