FLORENCE, S.C. – Ceramics by Vince Pitelka will be on display at Francis Marion University, March 19 through April 19.
The exhibit, titled “Patchwork Containment,” will be on display in the Hyman Fine Arts Center gallery on the FMU campus. The exhibit is open to the public, free of charge, and may be viewed between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A reception for Pitelka will be held March 19 at 7 p.m. in the Hyman Fine Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
“My work addresses the visual and narrative power of pattern, and the dialogue between surface, form and containment,” said Pitelka. “I am interested in the way pattern and surface inform our perceptions of exterior form and interior space.”
Pitelka received the M.F.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is currently an associate professor of ceramics at Tennessee Technological University’s Appalachian Center for Crafts.
