FMU to host Pee Dee Storytelling Festival, Dec. 11-12
FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will play host to the fifth-annual Pee Dee Storytelling Festival, Dec. 11-12.
More than 2,000 third-graders from Florence and Marion county schools will attend the festival’s daytime performances.
A free evening performance for the general public will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 in the McNair Science Building auditorium. Children and families are encouraged to attend.
The festival will feature storyteller Bobby Norfolk. A three-time Emmy Award winner and a Parents’ Choice nominee, Norfolk is also an actor, comedian, TV host and recording artist. With more than 15 years of storytelling experience, his stories promote character-building, diversity and self-esteem.
The partners presenting the event are FMU and the Florence and Marion county libraries and school districts.
