FMU to hold "Children's Story Time in Spanish/La Hora del Cuento" at Florence County Library

FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University’s Department of Modern Languages will hold “Children’s Story Time in Spanish/La Hora del Cuento” at the Florence County Library on Thursday, Sept. 26, and Thursday, Oct. 10.

The story times will take place during the library’s after-school program from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. in the 2nd floor meeting room of the Florence County Library at 319 S. Irby St. in Florence. The sessions are geared toward children ages five to 11 and are free and open to the public. The events are in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

FMU Spanish students will read stories to the children. The purposes of the story times are to serve the local community, to promote an understanding and appreciation of Hispanic culture, and to empower the FMU students with a sense of civic duty and global responsibility.

For more information, contact Paula Childers or Cassandra Scott of the library at 843-662-8424. Para información en español, favor de comunicarse con la Dra. Wendy Caldwell, 843-661-1602.
