FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University Foundation and Collette Vacations will hold an information session about a trip to England in March for FMU alumni and friends.
The information session will be Thursday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. in Room 218 of the Smith University Center on the FMU campus. To reserve a space at the session, or for more information about the trip, call Kelly Sellers, FMU’s director of Alumni Affairs, at 843-661-1228.
Highlights of the 10-day trip will include the bustling metropolis of London, the pomp and circumstance of Edinburgh, and the cozy charm of the Cotswolds. Travelers will also see Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and the home of William Shakespeare.
Other tour activities include a spectacular London Theatre performance, Scottish entertainment, the picturesque English Lake District, the Roman Bath Museum, and an overnight stay at Ruthin Castle where visitors will enjoy a fine medieval banquet.
The trip will depart March 25, 2003, and is being offered through the FMU Foundation by Collette Vacations.
The cost per person is $1,979 (double) or $2,379 (single), and includes round-trip airfare from Charlotte, N.C., cancellation waivers and departure tax. The cost also includes 14 meals (eight breakfasts and six dinners). The first deposit of $430 per person is due upon reservation, first-come, first-served. The final payment is due by Jan. 24, 2003.
