FLORENCE, S.C. – The James A. Rogers Library at Francis Marion University is currently displaying several items from NASA space missions. The items are on loan from the South Carolina Governor’s Office.

Included in the two display cases are flags, photos, patches and other memorabilia from various space trips. Also in this exhibit is a small sample of moon fragments from the 1969 lunar landing of Apollo 11.

Other expeditions included in the display are the 1972 Apollo 16 mission and two space shuttle journeys – Mission 1 of the Columbia in 1981 and Expedition 3 of the Discovery in 2001. South Carolina astronauts Frank Culbertson and Charles Duke are featured in the exhibit.

Both display cases are located in the reference area on the main level of Rogers Library and can be viewed during normal library service hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 3 to 11 p.m.

The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 30.
