FLORENCE---The Francis Marion University Board of Trustees will hold its summer meeting Friday, July 19, at 1 p.m. in the President’s Room of Ervin Dining Hall.
Agenda items include the adoption of a $29.1 million operating budget for the 2002-2003 fiscal year; the naming of a campus street for the late Robert C. Scott Jr., an educator and founder of the Pee Dee Education Center located adjacent to the campus; and the establishment of six Trustees’ Research Scholars to be awarded to senior faculty members who have compiled a significant record of research and publication.
Committee meetings are scheduled as follows: 9:30 a.m., Planning and Accreditation Committee, Palmetto East, and Financial Affairs and Responsibility Committee, Palmetto West; 9:45 a.m., Academic Affairs and Shared Governance Committee, Palmetto East, and Student Affairs Committee, Palmetto West; 10 a.m., Alumni Development Committee, Palmetto East, and University Development, Palmetto West.
At 10:30 a.m. in the President’s Dining Room, trustees will hear an overview of student affairs by Joe Heyward and Darryl Bridges. Faculty president Charlene Wages will give a report of the faculty at 11 a.m., and President Fred Carter will present a university overview at 11:30 a.m.
