FLORENCE, S.C. – The Dooley Planetarium on the campus of Francis Marion University will present a program titled “Tour of the Universe,” Sunday, July 14, at 3 p.m.
Admission is free.
The planetarium is located on the second floor of the Cauthen Educational Media Center.
"Tour of the Universe" begins with a portrayal of the current evening sky using the planetarium projector. The major constellations and bright planets will be identified and described. A multimedia tour of the universe we live in - designed for both adults and children – will be presented. It will include the Big Bang theory, a trip back to Earth, and observations of many wonders of the universe along the way. If time allows, this will be complemented by a presentation of exponential travel from the Earth to the edge of the known universe and back. The program will conclude with a question and answer session.
Following the regular schedule of planetarium programs on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, “Tour of the Universe” will also be presented July 28.
