Carolina Health Care establishes scholarship at FMU

FLORENCE, S.C. – Carolina Health Care has established an endowed scholarship with the Francis Marion University Foundation to encourage FMU students to pursue careers in health care.

The Carolina Health Care Scholarship will be endowed in the amount of $25,000.

The recipient must have a major concentration in any health-care related area, have a cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 or higher, and demonstrate financial need. The recipient is eligible for repeat awards, provided all qualifications are met.

Carolina Health Care is an independent, multi-specialty group practice with two locations in Florence.

According to Michael D. Pavy, M.D., and Richard D. Weber, D.P.M., who are partners with the practice: “Carolina Health Care decided to support this scholarship because of the importance that the partners put on education. They also feel that Carolina Health Care is part of the community and therefore should be supportive of those activities that benefit the people of the area.”
