BellSouth Pioneer Volunteers present check to FMU

FLORENCE, S.C. – Members of the local BellSouth Pioneer Volunteers recently presented a $500 check to Francis Marion University for the Pee Dee Council – BellSouth Pioneers Scholarship.

Juanita McLaughlin (left), past president of BellSouth Pioneer Volunteers, presented the check to Libby Cooper (right), director of community relations at FMU.

Established in 1970, the scholarship has been awarded every year since its inception. BellSouth Pioneer Volunteers consist of active and retired BellSouth employees in South Carolina.

The major focus of this volunteer arm of BellSouth is to support key educational programs throughout the state.
