FMU Men Look to Ride Broncos to Fifth Straight Win, Saturday

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University men’s basketball team will play host to Fayetteville State University, Saturday afternoon (Dec. 21) at 3 p.m.

FMU (4-3) has won four straight games after dropping its opening three contests.  The last time the Patriots won as many as five games in a row was a six-game streak during the 1997-98 season.

A balanced Patriot attack features four players scoring in doubles figures: junior Jaquan Bracey (14.0 ppg, 11.3 rpg), sophomore Louis McCullough (13.0 ppg, 8.4 rpg), junior Randy Williams (12.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg), and junior Mike Buglione (12.1 ppg).

After committing 99 turnovers in their first four games, the Patriots are averaging only 14 miscues over the past three games.

FSU is 3-4 following an 85-77 road win over Wingate University, Thursday evening.  The Broncos are led in scoring and rebounding by 6-4 senior forward Bryan Chapman (20.4 ppg, 8.6 rpg).

Francis Marion leads the all-time series 10-5.

Saturday’s contest will be the Patriots’ final game until after the new year.
