Registration Continues For FMU's "Softball May Mini Camp"

FLORENCE, S.C. – Registration is continuing for a “Softball May Mini Camp” sponsored by the Francis Marion University women’s softball program, under the direction of sixth-year head coach Bill Gray.  The mini camp will be held on Wednesday nights during the month of May.

The camps will meet from 5 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday evening on the FMU Softball Field, and each session will concentrate on a different skill.  The series is open to players from age eight through high school seniors.  Athletes participating on high school teams cannot attend the camp if their seasons are still in progress.

The cost will be $30 per player per session, or $150 for the entire 15-hour series.

The first, third, and fifth Wednesday nights will concentrate on hitting, fielding, and throwing: May 1 - beginning hitting, fielding, throwing; May 15 - the short game/playing your position; and May 29 - hitting for power/playing solid defense.  The second and fourth Wednesdays will focus on the pitcher and catcher positions: May 8 - beginning pitching and catching; and May 22 - advanced pitching and catching.

To register, or for more information, contact Gray at 843-661-1238.  Participants can also register at 4:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening prior to the session.
