Artwork by Guyton, faculty, to be displayed at FMU

     FLORENCE, S.C. – Paintings and drawings by Florence artist L. Stephen Guyton will be on display as part of Francis Marion University’s Art Gallery Series, Aug. 5 through Oct. 31.

    The exhibit, titled “Southern Reflections,” will be on display in the Smith University Center gallery on the FMU campus.

    Guyton’s recent work includes the design for the new police badge for the City of Florence and the official Christmas ornament for the city.

    Artwork by the Department of Fine Arts faculty at FMU will be on display Aug. 12 through Oct. 2 in the Hyman Fine Arts Center gallery on campus. Exhibiting faculty members include Lawrence Anderson, Greg Fry, Howard Frye, Steve Gately, Donna Goodman, Doug Gray and Kathy Pompe, and gallery curator Roberta Olmstead.

    All exhibits are open to the public, free of charge, and may be viewed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

     An artists’ reception, also free of charge and open to the public, will be held Sept. 2, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the lobby of the fine arts center.
