FMU to present Spring Choral Concert, April 27

FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will present a Spring Choral Concert, featuring the Concert Choir and the Cut Time show choir, Sunday, April 27.

The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the Hyman Fine Arts Center’s Kassab Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

The 40-voice Concert Choir will begin the program with J.S. Bach’s “Blessing, Glory and Wisdom,” John Rutter’s “Look At the World,” and Aaron Copland’s arrangement of “Simple Gifts.” A group of spirituals will follow.

The 11 members of Cut Time will present the second portion of the program, with numbers including “But It’s Alright,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “Love Potion No. 9,” and “Do You Want To Dance?”

Both groups are directed by Sue Butler Orr, an FMU assistant professor of music and director of the choral program.
