FLORENCE, S.C. – Dan H. Fenn, a lecturer in public policy at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, will speak at Francis Marion University, Wednesday, April 23.
The lecture, titled “The White House: Then and Now,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Hyman Fine Arts Center’s Kassab Recital Hall. The event, sponsored by FMU’s Honors Program, is free and open to the public.
Fenn has been at Harvard since 1969. He has also lectured at Tufts University, and since 1986 has been a senior associate at the John W. McCormack Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Massachusetts–Boston. He has been the curriculum coordinator for the South Carolina Executive Institute since its establishment in 1991.
Fenn served on President John F. Kennedy’s executive staff from 1961 to 1963. He was vice chairman of the U.S. Tariff Commission from 1963 to 1969. In 1971, he became the first director of the Kennedy Presidential Library, and held that position until 1986.
