FMU selects homecoming king and queen

FLORENCE, S.C. – Alan Barker and Dana Monique Bufford were selected as Francis Marion University’s 2003 homecoming king and queen on March 1.

Barker, of Columbia, is a junior business administration major. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and is the president of Inter-Fraternity Council. Barker is also a former FMU basketball player. He was sponsored by Pi  Kappa Alpha fraternity. Barker is a graduate of Dutch Fork High School.

Bufford, also of Columbia, is a sophomore accounting major and marketing minor. She is a member of the Student Government Association, Student Alumni Association, Dimension of Diversity Dance Team, and the University Programming Board. Bufford was sponsored by the University Programming Board. She is a graduate of Lower Richland High School.

During Spirit Week, Feb. 24-March 1, FMU’s Student Government Association held elections to select the 2003 homecoming king and queen. The king and queen are selected by the student body to represent the student body’s school spirit. The crowning ceremony was performed during halftime of the FMU men’s basketball game against Clayton College & State University.
