(1) A new high-tech computer laboratory will be dedicated in honor of Progress Energy Thursday (Feb. 27) at noon on the Francis Marion University campus. Named the Progress Energy Technology Center, the computer lab is located in Rogers Library. The new computer lab was established with a gift to the library from Progress Energy Foundation.
Emerson F. Gower Jr., vice president of the southern region for Progress Energy, will participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the center, along with FMU Provost Richard Chapman and Library Dean Paul Dove.
(2) A faculty forum on “The Iraq Dilemma: War Now, War Later, or No War at All?” will be held at Francis Marion University Thursday (Feb. 27) from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in McNair Auditorium. An eight-member faculty panel will discuss a variety of topics related to the Iraqi situation.
(3) Francis Marion University will celebrate Homecoming 2003 on Saturday, March 1. The day will include Patriot Fest, a home basketball doubleheader, and an athletic auction. For more information, call FMU’s Office of Alumni Affairs at 843-661-1228.
