Iraqi Dilemma Focus of FMU Forum

FLORENCE---A faculty forum on the Iraqi situation, sponsored by the Honors Program, will be held at Francis Marion University Thursday, Feb. 27, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in McNair Auditorium.

Open to the public, the symposium is titled “The Iraq Dilemma: War Now, War Later, or No War at All?”

Organizer Sam Howell, coordinator of art history and the general studies program, said that the forum will be a wide ranging discussion on a variety of topics related to the Iraqi situation.  A panel with diverse points of view will lead the discussion.

The panelists include FMU professors Peter Whelan of English, Scott Kaufman of history, Mike Jordan of psychology, Jay Kispert, vice president of business affairs and a former Marine Corps officer, and Kevin Lasher, Neal Thigpen, Eileen Kirley-Tallon and Emmanuel Udogu, all of political science.  Professor Don Stewart of mass communications will be the moderator.

The panelists will take questions from the audience following the discussion.
