FMU's Dooley Planetarium presents Space Shuttle Columbia memorial program, Sunday

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Dooley Planetarium on the campus of Francis Marion University will break from its regular schedule of shows to present a memorial program for the Space Shuttle Columbia, Sunday (Feb. 9) at 3 p.m.

Admission is free.  The planetarium is located on the second floor of the Cauthen Educational Media Center.

The latest information concerning the loss of the space shuttle will be presented and explained, as well as how this loss will affect the conquest of space.  The final moments of the mission will be contrasted with a normal space shuttle mission. A moment of silence will also be observed in honor of the shuttle’s crew and their families.

The regularly scheduled list of programs will resume on Feb. 23 with “Follow the Drinking Gourd.”
