FMU to host Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, Jan. 15

FLORENCE, S.C. – The fifth-annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will be hosted by Francis Marion University and the Pee Dee Minority and Small Business Division of the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. in the McNair Science Building auditorium on the FMU campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Rick C. Wade, senior associate of Fowler Communications, will be the featured speaker.

The event will include musical selections from the Wilson High School Tiger Production and FMU’s Voices of Imani, and a poetry reading by Shala Harrison.

Following the program, an art display by Exodus Artist Collective will be shown during a reception in the Smith University Center. Visitors will be able to buy graphic art by the artists.
