FMU Trio Earns All-PBC Tennis Recognition

FLORENCE, S.C. - Three members of the nationally ranked Francis Marion University men’s tennis team have been named to the 2003 Peach Belt Conference All-Conference Team.

FMU senior Mark Bube (Nuremberg, Germany) was selected for his accomplishments as a singles player, while the doubles team of senior Lewellyn King (Tarkastad, South Africa) and junior Danny Cordrey (Boca Raton, Fla.) also earned All-Conference honors.

Bube is ranked 36th among NCAA Division II singles players with an 8-2 record, including three wins over Top-50 opponents.  He earns All-PBC recognition for the fourth time.

King and Cordrey are ranked 19th nationally with a 13-3 record that includes a 6-0 mark against Peach Belt competition during the regular season.

The 18th-ranked FMU men own a 13-4 record and are awaiting Wednesday’s announcement of the NCAA Division II national tournament field.  The Patriots have earned national tournament invitations each of the past eight seasons.
