Patriots Up Two Spots in Division II Baseball Poll; FMU Hosts Businessman’s Special Thursday

FLORENCE, S.C. – After winning two of three non-conference games this past weekend, the Francis Marion University baseball team moved up two positions to 25th in this week’s Collegiate Baseball Magazine NCAA Division II Top 30 poll.

FMU will play at Limestone College on Wednesday, before hosting St. Augustine’s College in a Businessman’s Special, Thursday at 2 p.m. on Cormell Field.

Admission to Thursday’s contest will be $3 for adults and $2 for children.  Swamp Fox Club season passes will be honored, and FMU students are admitted free with their identification cards.

All businessmen attending the game will receive a free hot dog and Pepsi.

The Patriots are 18-11 overall and fourth in the current Peach Belt Conference standings with a 9-7 mark.

This is the seventh consecutive week FMU has appeared in the poll.  The Patriots have been ranked as high as No. 12.

Fellow PBC member Kennesaw State University is ranked first in this week’s poll with a 21-6 record.  Six Peach Belt Conference schools are again ranked in this week’s poll.
