Jackson (Jeff) Lee Jr. of Florence has been named associate dean of Francis Marion University’s School of Education.
He has been a professor of education at FMU since 1972 and is also the Philip N. Truluck Professor of Public Policy at the university. He served as director of the Pee Dee Math/Science Hub from 1993 to 2004.
Lee earned the A.B. degree in science education, the M.A.T. degree in biology, and the Ed.D. degree in curriculum and instruction from Duke University.
He was named FMU’s Distinguished Professor in 1992.
He has published several journal articles and presented numerous papers at professional conferences. He has also received a number of grants, served on and chaired many university committees, and served as a consultant to various educational organizations.
Lee is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Science Teachers Association, the South Carolina Science Council, and the National Staff Development Council. He founded and served as president of the College and University Science and Mathematics Educators.
