FLORENCE---Frank J. Koltonski of Lumberton has been named director of facilities management at Francis Marion University.
Koltonski replaces Owen M. (Mitch) Martin who retired after serving FMU for 32 years.
A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Koltonski will oversee operation of the university’s physical plant, including new construction, building maintenance, custodial services and grounds maintenance.
“I’m delighted to get someone with Frank Koltonski’s experience to manage our campus facilities,” said Jay Kispert, vice president for business affairs. “He brings a solid background in facility operations and maintenance, energy management, capital projects management, planning and budget administration.”
Koltonski most recently was regional engineer and facilities manager for EMC Corp. (formerly Data General Corp.) with campuses in Apex and the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina and Duluth, Ga. He also has held similar positions with Converse, Inc., in Lumberton, Day Engineering in Charlotte and Tultex Corp. of Martinsville, Va.
Koltonski earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace technology/engineering from Kent State University in Ohio and a master’s degree in architectural engineering from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro.
He and his wife Joan have four children and one grandchild.
