Five Francis Marion University students have been named Academic Distinction Scholars for the 2004-05 academic year.
Academic Distinction Scholars receive a $2,000 award. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen who had at least a 3.0 grade point average in high school, scored 1100 or higher on the SAT, and were in the top 5 percent of their high school graduating class.
Recipients may renew the scholarships for up to three years by maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
