One Francis Marion University student has been named a Patriot Scholar for the 2004-05 academic year.
Patriot Scholars receive $4,500 awards. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen who had at least a 3.0 grade point average in high school, scored 1200 or higher on the SAT, and were in the top 5 percent of their high school graduating class.
Recipients may renew the scholarships for up to three years by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5.
