Presidential candidate John Edwards will speak at Francis Marion University at 1 p.m. Friday (Jan. 30) in the Smith University Center.  The campus visit is being sponsored by the FMU chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science student honor society.  The event is open to the public.

    A native of South Carolina, Edwards is a U.S. Senator from North Carolina.  He is running for the Democratic presidential nomination.  The South Carolina primary is Tuesday, Feb. 3.
