FMU to hold alcohol awareness events for students, Tuesday

 FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will hold events on Tuesday (March 2) to promote alcohol awareness to students prior to FMU’s spring break the following week.

 A pre-spring break “Mocktail Celebration” will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Smith University Center’s swimming pool. This festive event will feature DJ Pat Gary, Karaoke, food and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as information about binge drinking.

 Also from 4 to 7 p.m., FMU Public Safety will demonstrate “Fatal Vision,” a driving and pedestrian obstacle course, by the university center pool.

 Both activities are free and open to FMU students, and are sponsored by the FMU Office of Counseling and Testing and the Campus Safety Initiative (CSI): Task Force of the Florence County Coalition for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention.
