FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University will play host to a program for businesses titled “Expand Through Trade,” Friday, April 2.
The half-day program will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. in the Palmetto Room of the Ervin Dining Hall on the FMU campus.
State Sen. Hugh Leatherman will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.
The program is aimed at small- to medium-sized companies that are interested in exporting or expanding existing export networks. “Expand Through Trade” will introduce companies to resources that are available to assist South Carolina businesses with both the mechanics and the procedures to develop effective and profitable trade overseas.
Participants will also hear from South Carolina companies that have succeeded in the international marketplace. In addition, the program will feature a discussion on the U.S. trade agenda and free trade agreements and their impact on South Carolina businesses.
The event is presented by the South Carolina Export Consortium in cooperation with the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, North Eastern Strategic Alliance, and U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
