FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University Concert Choir and Cut Time Show Choir will perform in concert, Sunday, April 25.

The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in Hyman Fine Arts Center’s Kassab Recital Hall and is free and open to the public.

Both choirs are directed by FMU assistant professor of music and choral director Sue Butler Orr.

The Concert Choir’s program is titled “On Broadway,” and will feature music from several Broadway musicals, including “The Fantasticks,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Oliver,” “Camelot,” and “Les Miserables.”

Zachary Calcutt, a freshman from Florence, will conduct the sopranos and altos for one number and the combined choir for another. The Concert Choir is accompanied by Rebecca Culbertson.

Cut Time’s program is titled “Dancing in the Street,” and will include “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “The Colour of my Love,” “Footloose,” and “The Shoop Shoop Song.”

Cut time, an audition-only group, will perform April 16 at Disney World. The show choir also performs for several groups and functions throughout the year in the Florence area.
