FMU's Flowers receives Honors Student Association Award

     FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University senior William Earl Flowers received the Honors Student Association Award at the university’s Academic Awards Day program, Monday, April 19.

     The HSA Award is awarded to a student, preferably a senior, who has completed at least five honors courses, has a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 in all honors courses taken, and has given distinguished service to the HSA and the Honors Program.

     Flowers is a candidate for the degrees of B.A. in English and B.A. in mathematics during FMU’s commencement exercises on May 8. He has received a tuition fellowship and appointment as a graduate teaching assistant in the M.S. Technical Communications program at North Carolina State University.

     He is the son of Ron and Julie Flowers of Hartsville.
