FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University School of Business student Samuel Barrett Schafer of Dillon has received a scholarship award from the Southern Carolinas Chapter of Financial Executives International.
Schafer was selected for the award, which carries a $300 cash prize, based on his academic performance in the field of finance. Schafer, a finance major, will graduate in May. He plans to pursue a master’s degree in finance from the College of Charleston. He is a graduate of Dillon High School.
The award was presented at an FEI dinner and meeting at the University of South Carolina on April 15. FMU business professor Michael Hughes attended the dinner with Schafer.
