FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University senior right-handed pitcher Erin Jones has been named to the 2004 Rawlings/ABCA All-South Atlantic Region Baseball Team.
Jones gained first-team All-Region honors for the second straight year.
The 5-10 Dillon native compiled an 8-3 record with one save and a 2.88 earned run average this past season. He struck out 90 batters in 100 innings, while walking only 19. He completed seven games of his 13 starts to lead the Peach Belt Conference in that category. He stands second in the PBC in wins, third in innings pitched, and fourth in strikeouts.
Jones helped lead the Patriots to a 29-17 record, a season-ending six-game winning streak, and a fifth-place finish in the Peach Belt standings.
In three years at FMU, he set Patriot career marks for wins (29-14 mark), complete games (29 in 41 starts), innings (336), and strikeouts (315), while twice setting the FMU single-season record for strikeouts: 106 in 2002 and then 119 in 2003.
