FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University men’s and women’s soccer teams and the Patriot volleyball team will all host matches on Saturday (Oct. 16).
The Patriot soccer teams will entertain USC Aiken in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader as part of FMU Youth Soccer Day. The women’s match will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s match at 4 p.m. on the FMU Soccer Field.
Admission to the matches is free, and all youth league players and past participants of FMU Soccer Camps are invited to attend and wear their jerseys.
The Francis Marion women are currently 7-3-0 overall and in second place in the Peach Belt with a 3-1-0 mark, while USCA is 1-8-2 and 0-4-0. The FMU men, unbeaten in the last four matches, are 5-6-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the PBC, while the Pacer men are 5-7-2 and 0-4-0.
The 15-7 Patriot volleyball team will host a quad match in the Smith University Center. Francis Marion will take on the State University of West Georgia (17-6) at 11 a.m. and Fayetteville State University (10-12) at 5 p.m. USC Aiken (14-8) is the fourth volleyball squad and the Pacers will play FSU at 1 p.m. and West Georgia at 3 p.m.
Admission to Saturday’s volleyball matches is also free.
The Francis Marion men’s and women’s cross country squads will both be on the road competing in the North Carolina State Regional Preview Meet, hosted by East Carolina University, Saturday morning at Lake Kristi in Grimesland, N.C.
