Patriot Soccer Camps Set For This Summer

FLORENCE, S.C. - The Francis Marion University men’s and women’s soccer programs will hold several Patriot Soccer Camps during the summer.

Two half-day camps for boys and girls, ages 7-13, will be held June 7-11 and July 26-30 at the Freedom Florence sports complex.  The camp will meet each day from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost will be $75 if paid before May 21 and $85 after that date.

The primary objective of the co-ed half-day camp is to teach fundamentals in skills, tactics, and team play.  The camp will emphasize improvement of individual skills.

At the same time, a Mighty Tots Camp, for boys and girls ages 4-6, will also be offered.  The camp will run simultaneously from 9 a.m. until noon, and will also cost $75 if paid before May 21 and $85 after that date.

The Mighty Tots Camp will introduce soccer through fun exercises and games.  It is designed to let youngsters have fun while introducing soccer fundamentals.

Additional half-day camps for boys and girls, ages 7-13, will be held May 31-June 4 at the Dillon Parks & Recreation Soccer Complex, and June 14-18 at the Marion Recreation Complex.  These camps will also meet from 9 a.m. to noon, and the cost will be the same.  Mighty Tots Camps will also be available during these same dates.

A full-day Advanced Individual and Team Camp (boys ages 13-18) will be held July 8-11 at FMU.  The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.  The fee will be $235 for overnight campers and $185 for commuter campers.  The cost includes lunch and dinner.

This camp will provide great challenges for the advanced player.  The training will be intense, and will focus on mastering technical ability and tactical expertise.  Individual campers will be grouped into teams for league play.  Each camper will receive a T-shirt.
