Patriot Golfer Named to All-Peach Belt Team

FLORENCE, S.C. –  Francis Marion University senior Fredrik Ohlsson has been selected to the 2004 Peach Belt Conference All-Conference Golf Team.

Ohlsson, a native of Goteborg, Sweden, earns All-PBC recognition for the third straight year.

At the recent PBC Championship Tournament, he tied for third and helped lead FMU to the team title.

He has played every round (29) this season for the Patriots and leads the squad with a 73.31 stroke average.  He has seven top-10 finishes in 2003-04, including earning medalist honors at last fall’s AFLAC/Cougar Invitational Tournament in Columbus, Ga.  In nine of his rounds this year, he shot even or below par, and he has not missed a tournament in each of the past three seasons.

Following its PBC Tournament win, the ninth-ranked Patriots own a 108-48-6 record.  Francis Marion will begin its NCAA Division II national title defense when the Patriots compete in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/Southeast Super Regional Tournament, May 3-5, at the Wilson (N.C.) Country Club.

By virtue of their finishes at the Peach Belt Tournament, Ohlsson and sophomores Luke Hart (Blythewood, S.C.) and Battle Hartman (Jefferson, S.C.) earned PBC All-Tournament Team honors.
