FMU Men's Basketball Program Schedules Summer Camps

    FLORENCE, S.C.- The Francis Marion University men’s basketball program will conduct two summer camps during the month of June: an Individual Camp (full-day or half-day option), to be held June 7-10 for players ages 9-15; and a Junior Patriot Camp, to be held June 14-17 for players ages 6-8.

    The four-day Individual Camp will be held from 8:30 to noon for half-day campers and 8:30 to 4 p.m. for full-day campers.  The cost of the camp is $75 for half-day participants and $150 for the full-day option (includes lunch).

    The camp is designed to provide individualized instruction in all phases of the game, and is tailored to meet the needs of all players, from beginner to the most serious player.

    The Junior Patriot Camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon (June 14-17).  The cost of the camp is $75.  The camp is designed to provide individualized instruction in all phases of the game, with instruction geared to meet the needs of the beginning player.

    All campers will receive a T-shirt and skill evaluation.

    FMU head coach John Schweitz will direct the camps.  Schweitz recently completed his fourth season at the helm of the Patriots, during which he led FMU to the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen and was named the Peach Belt Conference “Coach of the Year.”  He played collegiate basketball at the University of Richmond, and then played five years of professional basketball in the NBA and CBA.  He has coached at both the high school and college levels, including two years at the Division I level.
