FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University women’s basketball program has scheduled a pair of camps during the summer: a Team Camp, June 20-23, and an Individual Camp, June 28-July 1.
The cost of the four-day Team Camp will be $165 for each overnight camper (including meals) and $75 for commuter campers.
Each 10-member (or more) team is guaranteed five games per day. Each camper will receive a camp basketball, and the indoor FMU swimming pool will be accessible to campers.
The Individual Camp is for players entering grades 5-12. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. The cost of the camp is $150 if paid before May 30 and $175 if paid after May 30. Group rates are also available.
The four-day camp will include instruction on proper shooting techniques, offense, defense, passing, ballhandling, and nuances of the game. Skills contests and scrimmage games will also be part of the curriculum.
Participants will receive a camp basketball and lunch is provided.
FMU women’s basketball head coach Valecia Tedder will oversee the camps. Tedder, who recently completed her second season as head coach of the Patriots, worked as camp director for five years at Middle Tennessee State University’s “Stars of Tomorrow” camp, in addition to having worked camps at Clemson University, Mississippi State University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
